Rod, Brenda, Nicholas and Larissa Wiens came for a quick visit at the beginning of January. They were returning home from a missions trip in Spain. It was the first week back at school so we were pretty busy, but they rented a car and were able to get around and see some of the sites. We spent one afternoon with them in our favorite little town in France called Riquewihr. Unfortunately, almost everything was shut down for the month of Jan and Feb. We also went to the baths and out for supper to a traditional German place.

After arriving back on the 24th we spent Christmas day in Germany just with our family. It was a very relaxing day.

Tiera left on the 26th for Wales where she spent some time with her boyfriend, Jeff Tenkink and his family. We left for Prague on the 27th and Tiera and Jeff joined us in Prague on the 31st.

We had a great time in Prague with Connie and Al and the kids.

The kids loved spending time playing GameCube. Many hours were spent in this position...

One night we went to the opera...Samson & Delilah. It was a very interesting experience. They actually put the subtitles in English and Czech above the stage.

Ice skating in Prague...

Going for a walk together. We saw the river and Riverside school where they work.

It didn't look like there was any chance for snow but the day we went into the old town, it snowed! Reminded us of last year when we felt like we were in the middle of a snow globe. Very pretty, wet and then slushy and mucky! Within 2 days it was gone and just in time for New Year Eve.

New Year eve Tiera and Jeff arrived just in time for the celebrations to begin. We all headed to old town and had the most amazing view from Patrine Hill. We could see all over the city and everywhere we looked there were firecrackers and fireworks going off. This started already in the afternoon and by the time midnight rolled around it sounded like we were in a war zone. It was unbelievable.

January 1st we spent the day being tourists and explored Prague castle. They let us in for free that day saying it was a present from Prague.

A very tasty treat found in the streets of Prague... it's dough wrapped around this metal tube then cooked over an open fire. It's rolled in a mixture of sugar, nuts and toffee bits or something like that. It's so good.

Our last night there we went to our favorite Mexican restaraunt. Same place we went to last year.

Our trip home to Germany was very cozy! Jeff stayed with us for 2 days and then it was time for him to head back to Wales and then back to Texas where he is attending Letourneau University.
